What is a teddy trim?

A teddy trim is a popular style where your dog’s coat is clipped to one even length all over, giving a fluffy, rounded, “teddy bear” look. The face is usually rounded and cute, with a soft expression. It’s perfect for owners who love a cute style but also want a practical length for easier coat maintenance.

Is it ok if my dog arrives wet / muddy?

Don’t worry if your dog’s a bit wet or muddy from a walk, that’s what we’re here for!

Should my dog be toiletted beforehand?

Yes please! A good walk beforehand helps keep your dog comfortable and relaxed.

Teeth Cleaning FAQs

Do you offer teeth cleaning?

Yes. I offer professional Emmi-pet ultrasonic teeth cleaning in the salon as it is so beneficial to your dog’s health! Not only does it keep teeth white and breath fresh but it helps prevent issues such as gum disease and painful infections. The treatment is vet approved and cleans teeth without the need for anaesthetic.

Is teeth cleaning painful?

Not at all. The toothbrush is completely silent and doesn’t vibrate. The toothbrush is held gently against each tooth with special toothpaste which activates the ultrasonic waves and removes harmful bacteria from the gumline. Most dogs don’t mind this at all and it is an extremely effective treatment that all dogs can benefit from*

*We will be unable to use emmi-pet if your dog’s gums are red, inflamed, bleeding and sore looking, if your dog’s teeth are loose and the gum lines have receded. In this case you should seek veterinary advice. Emmi-pet can be used 4 weeks after any veterinary dental work has been carried out and your dog’s teeth and gums have fully healed.

At what age should I start teeth cleaning?

Puppies benefit from teeth cleaning as not only does this get them used to the process early but prevention is better than cure. Adding teeth cleaning to your pup’s grooming appointments will mean their teeth stay pearly white and their breath stays fresh.

How long will it take to achieve results if my dog already has a build up of tartar and staining?

Results times can vary and this depends on many variable factors such as the dogs age, overall health, diet, dental composition and how long the tartar and staining has been on the teeth for. Some dogs see results on their first visit and others will need multiple visits before seeing visible results and removal of tartar.

How often should my dog’s teeth be cleaned?

Teeth cleaning is recommended every 4-8 weeks unless there is already a build up of tartar and staining, in which case teeth cleaning is recommended every 1-2 weeks until this is removed.

How much will this cost?

I offer FREE consultations to advise on what course of treatment would be most suitable for your dog.

The first appointment is £50 which includes the toothbrush head, toothpaste, polisher tool and rosewood sticks for gently removing tartar once it has softened.

Ongoing appointments are between £20 - £30.

I offer a course of 6 teeth cleans with one free of charge, if booked upfront.
